Behind The Scenes with Tyler Dial On Film

I was stoked to get the opportunity to be an assistant for this video shoot. For Tylers vision for the visual of his song “On The Fence” we were going to be shooting at a house that was still being built. Mackenzie who was the lead for helping this project come to life, was going to be doing the main video work for this. My job was audio playback, holding the reflector when needed, and capturing some BTS.

Tyler shoots film so I checked out his instagram the day before to get a feel what film he likes and his overall visual vibe. He had a few posts with Portra 400. I didn’t have any Portra on deck so I did the next best thing… Kodak Ultramax. I also thought it would be cool to get some B&W photos as well so I brought both of my film cameras and loaded them up with Ultramax & HP5.
