Photowalk with Artifct at Shelby Park on Film

Who doesn’t love a good Photowalk? Make some friends an take some pictures. I purchased my first film camera from Artifct earlier this year. The selection they have, maintain, and showcase is incredible along with the incredibly knowledgeable and friendly staff. If you’re ever in Nashville please go visit them! They shared on their instagram that they were doing a photowalk on one of the last weeks of October and I knew I had to go.

Since we were going to be walking I wanted to bring my lovely point and shoot, my Minolta Hi Matic AF2. I also thought it would be fun to do something “experimental” since this was a lighthearted venture. I wanted to overexpose a roll of film for the first time and see if it was something i enjoyed. So I loaded up a roll of Ultramax 400 and set it to ISO 250.

What started off initially as a nice day turned into rain and clouds. One guy brought ponchos and saved us all.

Overall, I think I really liked the way these moments were captured and how overexposing the film told that story. Do I like it as much as shooting at box speed? I don’t know. I really like the bold saturated punchy colors of Ultramax. Either way I’m glad I got the chance to try something new on my journey of shooting film while also making some new friends.
